​Program Description


 

The Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology aims to meet the increasing demand for laboratory professionals in hospital and clinic laboratories, research, industry, public health, education, and laboratory management. The program complies with the CHED curricular requirements for offering Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. It is an excellent foundation program for graduate studies in medicine, dentistry, management, education, and other allied health science disciplines.



Program Educational Objectives


 

  • Prepare graduates for higher studies in medical laboratory science, allied life science courses, or a career path in medicine.

  • Graduate healthcare professionals capable of professional success as demonstrated by promotions and/or positions of increasing responsibility.

The graduates have the ability to:


  • Articulate the latest developments in their specific field of practice.

  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English andFilipino languages.

  • Work effectively and independently in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.

  • Demonstrate professional, social, and ethical responsibility, especiallyin practicing intellectual property rights and sustainable development.

  • Preserve and promote "Filipino historical and cultural heritage" (basedon RA No. 7722).

  • Demonstrate technical competence in the performance of clinical laboratory tests in aid of diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases vis a vis biosafety and waste management.

  • Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills in the workplace.

  • Engage in collection, analysis, leadership qualities, and projection of health information for improving the healthcare management system.

  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and ethical practice of the profession.

  • Apply research skills in appropriate areas of medical technology practice.
